More Reasons for a Mac

iPhoto + Facebook

I actually noticed this plugin for iPhoto a long time ago, but just now got around to trying it out. I've only used it for one picture so far, but it seems like a handy little utility. It's also open-source, so if you want to see how they did it or write your own derivative code, you can. While I haven't been entirely thrilled with the whole applications platform in facebook, they are at least giving something back to the open source community; and for the most part they've kept the design of the site clean.

iWork '08

In other (not so) news, I purchased iWork '08 a few weeks ago. My main motivation was having Keynote '08 for a class presentation I gave on technology in the schools. Even though I have PowerPoint, I dreaded using it so much I forked over the money, and now I wonder why I ever messed with Office in the first place. The themes look very good, and the results look professional with little effort. I haven't been as impressed with Pages, but the pre-made layouts are quite nice. I'm sure it will be fine once I get more accustomed to the program. If I ever have a reason to use Numbers, I'll let you know what I think of it.
